Checking in: How are your first days back to school?
Most of you are probably back in school by now and getting to know your students. How are things going so far? Have you mentioned PAGES? What are students saying so far? There are images on this blog (from Flickr)Т that give students an idea of what they will be doing in the program. Feel free to share those images with students. Also, be sure to get me your class lists so we can dive into Facebook.
Don’t forgetТ Stephanie, Elizabeth, and IТ are coming out to introduce ourselves andТ talk aboutТ PAGES in the next few weeks. I’ve heard from most of youТ to schedule your intro visit, but if you haven’t emailed me a date, please email me asap so we can work it into everyone’s schedule. The intro visits and pre-assessments will take place in the first few weeks of September and take about 30-45 minutes.

The Pages Program (Wexner Center for the Arts) 
Great start to the year for me…however, I tried Gary’s polleverywhere tool and discovered that only about half of my students (juniors and mainly seniors) were textually active. Big surprise to me. The site worked well and kids loved it but with only 50% able to participate, won’t be using it much. Guess this shows that my perception that “they’re all texting all day” is false.
